We spent 3 days at Yellowstone, and still didn't see everything. The landscape throughout the park is uterly spectacular. We spent one day in Mammoth Springs, one day in the canyon area of the park and the third day was checking out Old Faithful and the geysers. It is impossible to decide which area was more impressive. In the park we came acroos lots of Elk and Buffalo. 3 different times the Buffalo were walking in the road. One time, we were parked in a parking lot and Ed was sitting in the rv with Vicky. He looked up and there was a Buffalo in the window!
When we left Yellowstone, we drove through the Grand Tetons. Unfortuanely we got stuck in construction traffic and had to wait on the road for over 30 minutes. Just as we were leaving the Grand Tetons, we came across 3 moose by the river. It may have been the highlight of Ed's trip.
This is a blog to share with anyone interested our "cross-country" trip through the United States.

The Vacation Plans
We plan on starting our trip with a visit to Joe's brother Andy, in upstate New York. From there we will head to Niagra Falls. Next is a quick visit with friends in Michigan and then onto Minnesota. In Minnesota, we will visit with Joe's cousin Andy Kot and go to the Mall of America. Our next visit will be to Mount Rushmore. Then onto Yellowstone, Bryce/Zion Canyons and The Grand Canyon. We plan to check out the Petrified Forest in Arizona, and Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas. Our last stop should be the Arch in St. Louis.
Who knows how it will actually turn out!?!?

Have you guys seen any bears anywhere? I never spotted one at these parks but supposedly they're all over. Hang some sausage from the trailer, that should entice them!
ReplyDeleteWe have not seen any bears. Joey was really hoping to, but no luck. ONe area we stayed in at Yellowstone said that they do have a grizzly that visits about twice a week. They did hear wolves howling for about an hour one night though. And the boys almost got attacked by an large deer by the lake, while they were taking pictures. Then when they were almost back to the campsite after their night hike at Zion, a deer jumped out in front of them.
